Biography

Having joined The Berkeley in September 2011 as a graduate trainee, Steven spent two years working his way through the hotels various food & beverage outlets including time at Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley. In addition to this Michelin starred experience, Steven worked in numerous roles across the hotel within Private Events and other restaurants including Koffmann’s and The Caramel Room working across breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner sittings.

Having worked his way up, Steven moved to the Collins Room as Restaurant Manager in 2016 to oversee the launch of the new all day dining restaurant and home to The Berkeley’s famous fashion inspired afternoon tea, Prét à Portea. Steven has been instrumental to the restaurant’s success, including launching a new tea menu, tea infusion process and a rare & seasonal tea listing to compliment the afternoon tea offering or to be enjoyed alone as a luxury tea experience.

Prior to joining The Berkeley, Steven undertook his degree in Hospitality Management at Bournemouth University and spent two years at the Randolph in Oxford. Steven was also a Gold Service Scholarship finalist in 2013 & a winner of the Royal Academy of Culinary arts annual awards of excellence in 2014.
